Classify the regime, commit by node

Tomorrow's solar collapses at 18:00. Do I hold capacity for the day-ahead spike or commit to the aFRR band now?

What Almena shows you

The regime forecast, crossed against the constraint map.

The answer depends on where the asset sits. Almena's regime forecast classifies the trading day before intraday sessions open, spike day or flat day, then crosses it against the constraint map.

A node in a structural upward-constraint zone is on the right side of the grid at that hour: the spike is physically deliverable, hold capacity. A node in a downward-constraint zone gets the opposite signal: the system price spikes but the dispatch won't clear the network, take the aFRR band.

Same forecast, two different decisions, determined entirely by location.

What Almena replaces

One national forecast, replaced by one per node.

A single system price forecast applied uniformly across assets in different network positions, the default for any operator running more than one site across Spain.
